英語の仮定法についての質問です。
問題で、「怪我がなければ、彼女は試合に勝てたのに」という文があるのですが、答えは

なのですが、

ではダメなのですか?

用例を調べてみますと、"if it had not been for her injury〜"と表現するよりも、"if she had not been injured〜"と表現する方が遥かに多いことがわかります。

In MacDonald v State Farm Mutual Ins Co, 419 Mich 146; 350 NW2d 233 (1984), this Court held that where a person suffers an unrelated injury, a heart attack, after an automobile accident and is rendered unable to work, eligibility for work-loss benefits ceases because no income would have been earned even if the accident had not occurred.
