線状降雨帯は英語で何と言いますか？

ネットで検索すると linear rain band と訳しているの見かけます。

日本の気象庁には公式な英訳があるかもしれませんが、この linear rain band は日本語直訳調ですがその意味は伝わると思います。

ご参考までに英語の気象専門用語に線状降雨帯に対する用語として training という用語があります。列車が長く連なっているイメージです。ただ気象の話をしている以外の文脈で training と言われると訓練の意味の training に取られる可能性大です。従って training of rain としたほうが分かりやすいそうすることもあります。

「線状降雨帯」の訳語として日本の研究者による論文などに使用されているもので、おそらくは日本の気象学会が採用していると思われるものは次の通り:

　line-shaped rainfall system
　line-shaped precipitation system
　band-shaped rainfall system
　band-shaped precipitation system

なお、上記とは異なる訳語が使用されている可能性もあります。
また、海外の研究者で上記の訳語を使用しているケースは皆無か稀であるようです。

この単語を表すような英単語はないと思う。

状況を説明する必要があるかなと。
