私はあの作家が使ったあの「that」は間違いだと思う。

１つめの that ～ということ（接続詞）
２つめの that　あの（代名詞）
３つめの that　「that」という言葉
４つめの that　関係代名詞
５つめの that　あの（代名詞）

つまり
I think that(1) ～ （私は～と思う）
思っている内容は
that(2) that(3) is wrong （あのthatは間違っている）
that(3)の内容を説明するために
関係代名詞 that(4)でつないで
that(5) writer used（あの作家が使った）

だと思います。おもしろいですね☆

確かに that が５つ入りますね。

that が一つ多過ぎるような気がします。

また、二つ目のthatは、" "で囲む必要があると思います。

"I think that "that" that that writer used is wrong." ならまだ話が通じます。つまり、
"I think that "that", which that writer used, is wrong." となり、

1. I think that [　　　], is wrong.
私は[ ]は誤りだと思う。

2. ["that", which （that writer used）]
[（あの著者が使用した）"that"]

1+2. I think that ["that", which (that writer used)], is wrong.
私は[（あの著者が使用した）"that"]は誤りだと思う。

3. which を that に置き換え直して。
I think that ["that" that (that writer used)] is wrong.
私はあの著者が使用した"that"（の用法）は誤りだと思う。

I think (that) ～接続詞の that で「私は～だと思う」

that "that"「その that という語」
(that) that writer used：関係代名詞の目的格の that に that writer「その作者」
「その作者が使ったその that という語」

私は、その作者が使ったその that という語は誤っていると思う。
