otherはいつつかうのか。
another はother の単数形でothers は複数形でthe otherは最後の1つで、the others は残りのすべて。
otherだけで使うことはないのですか。

単数形の代名詞otherにanもtheも付いていない形は、

単数形の名詞appleにanもtheも付いていない形と同じように、
普通はありません。
○ I want an apple. / ○ I want the apple. / × I want apple.
○ I want another. / ○ I want the other. / × I want other.

ただし、each other(それぞれの他者→「お互い」と訳す)は、
eachに「それぞれ１つの」という、anと同じ意味が含まれているので、
可能です。each apple＝それぞれのリンゴ と同じ仕組みです。

other は代名詞として用いる場合、

others
another
the other(s)
のどれかです。

other だけというのはありません。

another は an ＋ other のようなもので、
an/the の冠詞とか、
some/any/no のような限定詞が必要です。

単独なら複数 others です。

形容詞用法もありますので、
other people のように、後に複数名詞がくれば、
other 自体は何もなくていいです。

確かにあまり一般的な使い方はみられないようですね。

（以下、WEBSTER辞書より）

ーa different or additional person or thing
例文：

例文：

other people（ほかの人）等

名詞のときは、単数形は冠詞をつけて（another, the other）のように使うか、複数形（others）になります。
