政治家の伝記がその人の仕事とその人物が生きた時代を描くのは当然だが、同時にそれは人間を描く生き生きとした筆致や人生に対する深い洞察を伴うものでなければならない。なぜなら、政治がいかに近代化しても、それを動かし、その究極の意味を決定するのは、生身の人間であるからだ。

This is because no matter how modern politic is, it is the human that control it, and decide the ultimate meaning.
