(2) は、c の wash ではなく、b の washing です。

理由は、その前に is が入っている名詞しか入らないからです。そのため、動名詞である washing が正解となります。

(4) は、d の has ではなく、a. の should です。 理由は、意味から考えます。in poor health は、体が弱い、あるいは 体調がすぐれない という意味ですが、元々体が弱いのであれは、そういう体質ですので、将来にそういう体質になるということは考えにくいですので、まず will が除かれます。また、後に続く動詞が be ですので、 has は入りません。been in poor health というように、 been が入っていれば、ずっと体調がすぐれないという意味なり、has を選択することも可能です。文の時制現在形ですので、had も除かれます。残るのは、should ということになります。意味としては、お父さんは体が弱い（または、お父さんは体調がすぐれない）だなんて、悲しいことだ、となります。

感情の should というやつです。

あとは合っていますが、
8は story の後に主格の関係代名詞 that か which が必要です。
