There is theについて

「～があります」というThere isの文では
There is my bookやThere is the bookなど
特定のものは主語にできないということですが，
次のような文がありました。

Laura　Ingalls　Wilder著の
Little House in the big woodsの中で

There were only trees and the wild animals
who had their houses among them.

このtheは先行詞で使われています。
実際にはThere isの後でもmyやtheなどの
限定詞はよく用いられているのでしょうか。

下記の原文を見ますと、"wild animals"は初出であるにも関わらず定冠詞が付けられていますが、初出の場合は定冠詞は付けないのが普通でしょう。

文学的な効果を意図して用いられたものと思われます:

Once upon a time, sixty years ago, a little girl lived in the Big Woods of Wisconsin, in a little gray house made of logs.
The great, dark trees of the Big Woods stood all around the house, and beyond them were other trees and beyond them were more trees. As far as a man could go to the north in a day, or a week, or a whole month, there was nothing but woods. There were no houses. There were no roads. There were no people. There were only trees and the wild animals who had their homes among them.

There is/are の後には相手の知らない情報が来ます。

つまり、the がすでに相手が知っている情報に付く場合は、there is /are の後には現れません。

×There is the cat in the kitchen.
×There is everyone in the room.

しかし、相手が知らない新しい情報なら構いません。
知らないのに、定冠詞が付くってどういう状況かというと、

a） 新情報となる名詞が of 句や that 節などで限定されている場合：
There is the problem of race in America.
「アメリカには人種という問題がある」

b） 相手の気づいていない例をリストアップする場合.
「the＋名詞」だけでなく, 固有名詞も可能：
“What’s worth visiting there?”
“Well, there’s the park, the castle and the museum.”
「そこで訪れる価値のある所はどこですか」
「そうですね, 公園, 城, 博物館でしょうね」

“Who’s going to help us?”
“There’s Bill and John.”
「だれが助けてくれるのだろう」
「ビルやジョンがいるよ」.

この文では、新しい情報、つまり読者が知らない情報を提示しており、さらに関係節で修飾されています。
