[9]、[10]、[11]の脚注（おそらく出典・情報源の表示）が、literature の具体的な内容を示しているはずです。

今回は意味的にevidenceだったということです。

「文献の中に○○だという証拠があります」なら普通ですが、「○○だという文献のなかに証拠があります」だと、証拠って何? 何の証拠？ということになってしまいます。
何の証拠のことを言っているのかが分かる文脈があれば、that節が the literature に係る解釈もあり得ますが、その場合はおそらく evidence ではなく the evidence と言いそうな気がします。

ただ、厳密にいうと、that が掛かっているのは evidence です。
