＊saying ～　の部分の訳がやや不自然でしたので手直ししました。

読み返して、一つ訂正です。最後の文章の、

「私たちは、それら（洪水や地滑り）を」の部分ですが、「それら」= them は、洪水、地滑りと、「生態系の破壊」も含まれていると思います。

訂正でした。
