「十数万」に相当する英語は？

数十万人はseveral hundred thousand people
でいいでしょうか。なら十数万人はどういえばいいでしょうか？

dozen, hundred, thousand, million, billion などは数詞または数量形容詞(some, several, a fewなど)を伴うときは -s も"of"もつけません。

two hundred
several thousand 数千
some [about a] hundred [thousand] 約100 [1000]
five hundred pounds
several thousand times
a few million years

何百、何千、何万などと言いたい時には、-s と"of"をつけて表します。hundreds of, thousands of, tens of thousands of, hundreds of thousands of, millions of, tens of millions of, hundreds of millions of という具合に大きくなっていきます。

hundreds of pounds
millions of years
hundreds of students

なお、ｓをつける、つけないに関してですが、これらの単語のまえに「数字」が来ている場合はｓをつけません。

two hundred / five hundred

some や several の場合も、これらは「数字」の代用と考えられますから同じことがいえます。

ｓがつくのは基本的には「数百の～」の意味で "hundreds of＋複数名詞"の時だけだと考えておけば事足りると思います。

数十万人： hundreds of thousands of people / some hundred thousand people / several hundred thousand people （ただし、some がかなりあいまいであるのに対し、several の場合は30万～60万くらいをイメージさせます。

）

十数万人：　well over a hundred thousand people　（ over だけなら「～人以上」の意味でしかありませんが、well over…とすることにより「超え方がかなり上だ」という意味が出てきます。ex.）He is well over 80. ）

十数万人ですので、十万人以上と考えて、単に"over a hundred thousand people"でどうでしょうか。

「数万」の意味を忠実には出せてはいませんが、日本で「十数万人の人が～」という記事になるニュースが英語で書かれたら、単に"over a hundred thousand people"となると思いました。聞いたイメージは近いように思います。

なお、数十万人は、"hundreds of thousands of people"でもいいと思います。

アメリカに35年ほど住んでいる者です。

私なりに書かせてくださいね。

そういえあれ見ると、やはり、日本語の数字感覚が違うんだな、と感じました.　つまり、万、という単位があるから、こういえるんだな、と思いました.

さて、このフィーリングを出そうとしたら、

One hundred and severa ten thousand people 十万に数万人

About one hundred fifty thousand people,　約15万人

About one hundred fifty thousand people, give and take a couple ten thousand/s　約15万人、プラマイ2万人

Between/Somewhere a hundred thirty and (a hundred) seventy thousand people

と言うような言い方になります.
