文武両道を英語では？

今とある文章を書いているのですが、文武両道を英語に表すとするとどうすれば良いのでしょうか？
恐らくそれに合う名詞はないので動名詞とかのセンテンスになってしまうとは思いますが…その場合にも両立という意味のニュアンスに合う単語が見つけられません…過去の質問も検索したけどありませんでした。
良かったら教えてくれませんか？

He is good at studies and sports (respectively).はどうでしょうか。

（ただし、高校生前後位までのような気がします）
また、両立に視点をおいた場合、
He is good at balancing academics and athletics.
はどうでしょうか。
両立については、
strike a (good) balance between A and B
cope with A and B
もあるようです。

その文章の背景により、「military」「scholar」等の語句を使うのがとても奇異となりますので、質問者さんの文章背景を教えて頂けませんか? 例えば戦前の「海軍・陸軍士官学校」の「文武両道」では「military」と使っても違和感ないですけどね。

かく言う私は、「男子高校」で「文武両道」がその学校の創立以来の伝統となっていて、或るスポーツで県大会位には行きその後国立大へ現役・一浪合格というイメージで書いていました、二番五番です。

the boys who exemplified the scholar athlete
（文武両道の例となる少年達）

young scholat athlete

文武をどういう脈略でとらえるかによって、英語表現が異なります。

１．文学と武道：
literary arts and military arts
→literary and military arts

２．文字と剣：
the pen and the sword

３．文事と武事：
civil affairs and military affairs
→civil and military affairs

４．学問と兵術：
a scholar and a soldier

５．「彼は文武両道だ」

He is skilled in both literary and military arts
He has an excellent skill in both civil and military affairs.
He is distinguished both as a scholar and as a soldier.

「彼は文武両道だ。」というのは
He is excellent in both literary and military arts.
です。
