Vand's equation is given by ln(η_rel)=a1VC/(1-1 -Q'C)
with
η_rel=η_solution/η_solvent=relative viscosity (1)
where C is the solute concentration (surfactant + water), a1 is the shape factor (2.5 for spheres), V is the partial molar volume of a micellar substance,
and Q' is a constant coefficient dependent on the Brownian motions and interactions between aggregates.
The equation can be linearized as
1/Clnη_rel = al V+ Q'inη_rel (2)
where C= Ct-CMC, in which Ct is the total solute concentration, and the solvent viscosity, t/o, is the viscosity at the CMC. If Eq. (2) is linear, the shape of the aggregates is conserved over the studied concentration range.
