と言う部分の訳がわかりません。
教えていただけますか。

（物語は勿論）この歌は、古い古い詩型（脚韻）同様に古くからのもの。

この主題歌自体が、脚韻のデパートですけどね。

rhyme

「韻を踏む」とか「詩を作る」といった意味ですが、この歌詞では「詩（うた）」という意味です。なので
「詩と同じくらい古い歌」になるのでは。

意味的には

「韻文と同じくらい 古い歌」
（＝ 韻を踏むことは大昔から行われているが、それと同じくらい昔からある歌）
ということでしょう。

有り体に言えば、
friends bends
scared prepared
surprise rise
strange change
east beast
と、ところどころ韻を踏んできて、
最後だからもう一つ
timeと韻を踏んだ単語を探していたら
rhymeを思いついたのだと想像します。
