英語表現について

次の会話文は、レストランでのアンケートに答える文です。

Ok,let’s do it. First of all, the steak was tender and juicy.
So we should circle ”satisfactory,”right?

How about the service? I thought it was a little too impersonal.

Yeah, and I think they were slow to bring out our order.
So let’s answer ”unsatisfactory.” How about the atmosphere?

Honestly speaking, it’s a little too noisy and smoky, but we better write something nice so we
have a chance to win the trip!

上記の英文でI thought～.と過去形がきてます。そして I think～.とit’s a little too noisyのように現在形がきてます。なぜ過去形で答えてたのに現在形で答えるようになってるのでしょうか？会話の流れからしておかしいと思うのですが？

教えて下さい。よろしくお願いします。

まだ、お店の中にいるからではないでしょうか？

そのように理解すれば、日本語でも同じように、過去形で話したり現在形で話したりするので違和感がないですね。ありがとうございました。
