小数点を英語ではpointと呼び、その後の数字は基本的には１つ１つ読むことになります。

1.5はone point five.
1.25はone point two five.

そこで、1.5倍は one point five timesと言えます。
また、１．５というのは、１つ半ですから、one and a halfとも言えます。
これを組み入れていけばいいのです。

make it one point five times larger
make it one and a half times larger
make it one point five times wider
make it one and a half times wider
make it one point five times longer
make it one and a half times longer
なお、広げるというとき、感覚を広げるのはwiderを使い、面積を広げるのにはlarger を使うのも注意しましょう。

また、それぞれmake以外の動詞を使う表現もあります。
We'll enlarge it to twice its size.
We'll widen it to twice its width.
We'll extend it to twice its length.
このような言い方もあります。

ほかに　extend 延長させる　　 enlarge　拡大させる　とか当て嵌めます。
