come true とrealizeの使い分けについて

Why did Jack quit his job?
He wanted to ( ) his dream of opening his own cafe.
1:come true 2:increase 3:make sure 4:realize

答えは4でしたがなぜ1ではだめなのでしょうか。

と表現するように自動詞句だからです。
即ち「叶う」。
～を実現する、という他動詞が realize です。
