"may be able to"と"can"及び"could"との意味やニュアンスの違いについて

私たちは一緒にビジネスができるのではないかと考えています。
I think we may be able to work together.

上記は、フルートフルイングリッシュの日替わりテストの問題です。
このmay be able toは「できるかもしれない」との意味で使われています。
canでも置き換え可能なように思うのですが如何でしょうか。
また、同じ意味として、couldがありますが、これだと可能性が低い意味なので適当ではないということでしょうか。

つきましては、次の点ご教示願います。
①canで置き換え可能なのか。may be able toの意味やニュアンスの違い。
②couldで置き換え可能なのか。may be able toの意味やニュアンスの違い。

学校で習う英語なのか実用的なビジネス英語なのかでも違うでしょうね。

実用英語なら、同じような意味になる単語の微妙な違いは英和辞典ではなく、英英辞典で調べると良いですよ。
4つの違いは以下のように説明されています。

can / could / be able to / manage

Can is used to say that somebody knows how to do something:
Can you play the piano?
It is also used with verbs of seeing, noticing, etc:
I can hear someone calling.

Can is also used with passive infinitives to talk about what it is possible to do:
The podcast can be downloaded here.

Can or be able to are used to say that something is possible or that somebody has the opportunity to do something:
Can you/​are you able to come on Saturday?

You use be able to to form the future and perfect tenses and the infinitive:
You’ll be able to get a taxi outside the station.
I haven’t been able to get much work done today.
She’d love to be able to play the piano.

Could is used to talk about what someone was generally able to do in the past:
Our daughter could walk when she was nine months old.

You use was/​were able to or manage (but not could) when you are saying that something was possible on a particular occasion in the past:
I was able to/​managed to find some useful books in the library.
In negative sentences, could not can also be used:
We weren’t able to/​didn’t manage to/​couldn’t get there in time.

Could is also used with this meaning with verbs of seeing, noticing, understanding, etc:
I could see there was something wrong.
Could have is used when you are saying that it was possible for somebody to do something in the past but they did not try:
I could have won the game but decided to let her win.

お礼を拝見しました。

おっしゃるように can や could にも「かもしれない」と言う意味はあります。しかし、「かもしれない」と「することができる」の２つの意味を同時に持つことはありません。can や could だけで「できるかもしれない」とは訳せません。

may も can も助動詞ですから重ねて使うことは普通はできません。

ですので can の方を同じ意味を持つ be able to に置き換えたのです。
can や could だけにすると may の持つ「かもしれない」の意味がなくなってしまいます。

canもcouldも、可能性の意味があり、canは、ありうる、couldは、あるかもしれない（canより可能性は低い）の意味があるので、may be able toと何が違うのかが釈然としていません。
