differingについて

最近　differing opinions　などの用例があるのを知りました。
different と　differing　で何か意味の違いがあるのでしょうか。
フランス語では　動詞 difffererの現在分詞がdifferantですが、differentという形容詞もあります。

different opinions だと「人それぞれ意見はちがうだろうよ」という感じ。

　

differing opinions だと「ある意見に対して真っ向から反論してくる」という感じ。

此処で使われている「differ」は自動詞ですので、使い方は極めて限定されます。

　実用例は下記の通りですが、すべて形容詞の「different」と書き直しても差し支えありません。　但し、「differ」を本来の自動詞として使う場面としては下記の通り。

ありがとうございます。
高校生以上の使用範囲なのでしょうね。
differing　の反意語は　identifyingなどsameとは違う語が背景にある（ニュアンスをもつ）ということですかね。いまが違うがいつか同じになる可能性をもつ、動きのある意味ともとれますが、用例からはdifferentとほとんど変わらないものもあったり。
用例からわかるのは、「考え」「信念」「関心」などに付きやすい修飾語ということでしょうか。いずれにせよdifferent よりは守備範囲が狭そうです。

「differing」は「different」 「よりは守備範囲が狭そうです」→全くその通りですね。

どうしても・なんがなんでん・どぎゃんしてでん「differing」を使う・使わなきゃならんと云う場面は殆どなかとじゃなかろうか(何故か博多弁)。自動詞の「differ」が世間のお役に立つ場面(活用される)って言うのはこれ位ですかな。

時代によって異なる
differ from day to day
日によって変動する
