自動詞の　face to the south と
他動詞の　face the south の区別が分かりません。
教えてください。

face the south（face は他動詞、south は名詞）

fact to the south（face は自動詞、south は名詞）
face south（face は自動詞、south は「南に」という副詞）
いずれも可能で、意味もほとんど同じ「南に向いている」

face to the south 「南（の方）へ向かう」

face the south　「南側へ出る、南側に直面する」
