(1)今日は会社つく前にガソリンスタンド寄ってきたよ。

(2)昨日は残業でした。だからエクササイズジムに少し遅れちゃった。

(3)（飲むに誘われた時。）
誘ってくれてありがとう。でも、今日他の用事あるんだ。でも、用事が早く終わったら行けるかもしれない。また連絡します。

まだいますか？
今日はやっぱり行けません。

(1) I stopped by at a gas station on my way to work today.

(2) I worked overtime yesterday and I could not arrive at the exercise gym on time.
(3) Thank you for inviting me, but I have other business to do today. If I can finish it earlier, I might join you. I'll call you again.

Are you still there?
I'm afraid I can't join you today.

☆「他の用事がある」を have other business としましたが、have other fish to fry と言う面白い表現もあるようです。
