acknowledge

I am the father of four. I divorced after my third child was born, and I got custody. I have been with my girlfriend, Wanda, for six years, and we now have a daughter together.

The issue I have is, last year, Father's Day came and went, and Wanda didn't acknowledge it. I didn't even hear a Happy Father's Day from her or my youngest child. (My ex-wife acknowledged me.)

父の日を覚えていて感謝する元妻と、忘れて夫に感謝しなかった現在の妻と子、という話だと思います。

はじめのは、didn't acknowledge で「（父の日を）ど忘れした」程度の意味。後のは「感謝すべき父の日を自覚／覚えていて、ちゃんと感謝してくれた」意味ではないでしょうか。

それにしても、この、「私」と元妻と今の妻との関係は微妙ですね。波乱がなければ良いがと思います。
