「そこに～がある」の「～」が初出の場合の英訳について

そこには、若者が居た。
There were a young man there.

上記の文章で、"a young man"が初出で存在を表す場合、"there is"でよく表現されますが、「そこに」という意味を含めたい場合、上記のように、さらに"there"を付加するのでしょうか。あるいは、"there is"にその意味があるため必要ないのでしょうか。
私としては、"there is"は慣用表現化しており、"there is"の"there"にもはや「そこに」という意味は失われ、"there"は再度明示しなければならないのではないかと勝手に思っています。

つきましては、次の点ご教示願います。
①提示文は正しいのか、あるいは、thereは余分なのか。そしてその理由。
②「ここには、若者が居た。」の英訳の場合、hereも同様と考えてよいのか。。

正しくない。正しくは、There was a young man there. とすべき。理由は言うまでもないと思われるので省略。

提示文は There was a young man there. のつもりだったとした場合に、「【そこに】若者がいた」という意味を表したいのであれば、文末の there が必要。理由は、貴見のとおり。高梨『総解英文法』291頁も同旨。ただし、「"there is"は慣用表現化して」いるからではなく、「There は、単に be 動詞を導く働きをするだけで意味がない」からとしている。

『クエスチョン・ボックス シリーズ第10巻 文』57頁は、There there are few children of your boy’s age.（そこには坊っちゃんの年ごろの少年は少ししかいません）という例文を紹介し（there が２つ）、『普通には文尾に置かれるべき場所を表す副詞 there が強意のため文頭に置かれたものとみるべき』としています（「There are few children of your boy’s age there. は普通に見られる」と言っていることになる）。

前掲クエスチョン・ボックスは、There are… の構文においては … の部分に来る語句は不定なもので there には強勢を置かないと言っており（それとは別に、… の部分に特定のものが来て there に強勢を置く構文も別にあるので要注意）、同時に同書は、Here is… の構文の Here は「強勢を受け、明瞭な場所の意味を表すので、その上さらに他の場所の副詞を必要としません」と言っています。目の前にあるものについて言及する文ですから「明瞭な場所の意味を表す」のは当然のことかと思います。同時に、… の部分に来るのは正に今眼前にあるものなので、特定のものであることはやはり当然ということになるでしょう。前掲書も「後に来る主語は特定のものとして提示されるのが普通」としています（「不定の主語が来ることもある」という留保付きですが）。

以上のことから、Here is a young man. の場合、末尾に here が来るのは不自然と考えられるのではないかと思います。ただし、あくまで理屈のうえの話です。もしかすると現実には Here is a young man here. というような言い方もされているかも知れません。私は机上の空論だけの人間ですので、ネイティブスピーカーが実際にどのような言い方をしているのかはよく分かりません。悪しからず。

多分お察しでだからこそこういう質問をしているのだろうと思いますが、
There is ~ の構文は存在（抽象的なものを含めて）を表すための構文で場所を表す要素はない。だから場所を表す副詞がついても何ら不都合はないと言うことでいいのではないでしょうか。文末のthereなどがin the boxと入れ替えれるというかin the boxとつけてもいいののそれをthereに置き換えれないとなるとかなりへんてこな理屈になるし、There is a computer in the room．といったときに場所を示すThereがあるのにin the roomという場所を示す表現で重複しているのは変だという主張にはならないはず。

したがって、"there is a young man there"は重複と感じます。
"a young man is there."もしくは"there is a young man."で十分と感じます。
同様に"here is a young man."または"a young man is here."ではと思いますし、ましてや"there is a young man here."は"there"なのか"here"なのかわかりにくい文に思えます。
