確かに、「メニュー」に書く場合と、直接外国人に説明する場合とでは、違いますよね。

「メニュー」だったら、最初に書いた Iya-style skewered dumplings かな？

でも、外国人に説明するなら、食べ方を言ってもいいかもしれませんね。 People in Iya eat these dumplings, sprinkling soybean flour and suger. とかかな？

お店の人と話したい旅行者は多いのです。

駅で売られているのを見て、「これ、英語で何て言うのかなあ？」って思っただけです。

おっしゃって下さったように、最初に簡潔に、Iya skewered dumplings と言って、説明をするのが良いかもしれせん。

確かに、だんごを食べながら、かずら橋を渡るのは危険ですね。

和英辞典で調べたワードを言っても分かってもらえないので、原料などを説明すると、日本独自の物も理解してもらえるので(^-^)v
