Q3.
Polar covalent bonds which are well defined by the differences in electronegativitie (of Poiling's and/or Mulliken's) number differences.
Polar covalent bonds such as especially found in water, in ammonia, or in hydrogen fluoride make polar molecules whose polarity are measured as the permittivity, dielectric constants, and dipole moments.
Molecules make of polar covalent bonds bave higher boiling points compared with molecules of similar molecular weights lacking in polar bonds.
And they act as acid or base in aqueous solutions.

Q4.
The octet rule plays as a rule of thumb in the chemistry of covalent bonding and of ionic bondins. In world of covalent bondings it predicts numbers of bonds of borane, methane, ammonia, hydrogen fluoride, as well as many macro-molecules. On the other hand in world of ionic bondings it predicts most stable number of charge on cations as well as on anions.

Q4.

Usually covalent bonds are formed by using of two electrons, one from each atom, while dative bonds are formed using two electrons from only one atom. So it is regarded as one atom coodinates to another atom, accordingly dative bonds are also called coordinate bonds.

A1.
Theoritically atomic orbitals and molecular orbitals should be treated distinctly. Although practically perturbation theories dealing molecular orbitals as combinations of atomic orbitals are fruitful.
Covalent bonds are formed/strengthened by filling "bonding" molecular orbitals with electrons, broken/weakened by filling "antibonding" molecular orbitals with electrons.

A2.
Sigma molecular orbital has an axial symmetry around two atoms.
Pi molecular orbital has an mirror plane of symmetry which contains two atoms.
