順番を英語で表現したいのですが・・・

以下の文章を訳すのに困っています。ご教示頂ければ幸いです。

スーパーの食材はたいてい賞味期限の若い順番で棚に並んでいます。
食材を購入する時は、賞味期限が長いものを買いましょう。

ちょっと面白そうなので考えてみました。

In grocery stores, foods are mostly on the shelves in "sell by" date orders. The oldest food is found at the first row.
If you are in the market for foods, choose ones with newer "sell by" dates.

これで何とか通じるんじゃないかなと思います。ちなみに賞味期限というのは日本独特の概念で英語にはありません。近い表現にSell by (日付)とかBest ifですね。ここではsell by dateという言い方をしてみました。

Grocery stores usually display older food items in front of newer ones.

スーパーはたいてい古い食品を新しいものの前に陳列します。

Always remember to reach out and get newer items (with longer expiration dates).
必ず手を伸ばして新しいもの（賞味期限が長いもの）を購入することを心がけましょう。

スペルミスありすぎなので再度書きなおします。

Foodstuffs are normally displayed in order of freshness in grocery stores.
Be sure to buy a foodstuff with a later expiration date.
（Make sure to check the expiration date when you buy foodstuffs)

※longer expiration date でも通じそうですが、later expiration date が正しいです。

若い順とは「新しい順」でしょうか、それとも「古い順」ですか？

前者なら in order of freshness 後者なら in order of old to new とすればいいでしょう。

（Make sure to check the expiration date when you buy foodstuffs)

などです。

Foods in the supermarket are usually lined up on the rack according to the expiration dates.

When you buy foods, you should buy foods with more days before the expiration dates.
