被子植物は、形と働きを異にする表皮系・維管束系(木部と篩部)・基本組織系に分けられる細胞と組織の組み合わせで出来ている。

特に、維管束系と呼ばれるものに木部があり、その中に導管が含まれる。

具体的には、

木部[xylem]は、植物体を補強する役割も果たす、道管・仮道管・木部柔組織・木部繊維などから構成される組織。

さらに
導管[vessel]は、土壌から吸収した水溶液が上昇する管で、被子植物の木部において，長い細胞が縦に並び，隔膜が消失して互いにつながり，長い管になったもの。

つまり、木部は導管を含む上位の概念。

Angiosperms is made of a combination of different cells and tissues of the form and function which can be divided into epidermal system, vascular system (xylem and phloem), basic tissue system.

Particularly, there is vascular system having the xylem including conducting vessels.

In particular, the xylem has the xylem, tracheids, xylem parenchyma-wood fibers and may also serve to reinforce the plant.　

Furthermore, its vessel is a pipe in a plant that moves water and nourishment up from the roots. In the angiosperm, this lengthwise long cells is formed in this line which disappeared its diaphragm. In other words, the xylem is broader concept of including a conduit.
