There are two aspect to honor: the internal integrity that one maintains and the external recognition that comes from society.Sometimes these two aspects of honor can be in conflict with
each other. For the samurai,internal integrity was supposed to be the true definition of honor,
but being human, it sems that in many cases,the external recognition of society was just as
important ,if not more so.

こういう more so というのは、
前にある形容詞について、原級部分のみ so で受け、
more so で比較級を表します。

important は more で比較級を作りますが、そうでなくても、
たとえば前に old とあって、
older を more so で表すことができます。
