must→

somewhat formal in US English — used to say that something is required or necessary
You must stop. [=you have to stop; I command you to stop]

◊ Note the difference in meaning between must not and not have to.
You must not do it. [=it is necessary that you do not do it; I command you not to do it]
You don't have to do it. [=it is not necessary for you to do it]

The phrase ought to has the same meaning as should and is used in the same ways, but it is less common and somewhat more formal.

ought to は should と同じ意味。ただし、余り使われず、幾分フォーマル。

まあ、must はしなくてはいけない。

ought to はそうするべきである。
位の違いがあるので、
must not はしてはならない。
ought not to はするべきではない。
というようなことじゃないかな？

アメリカでは、ought not toって使っているのは聞いた記憶がないな
should not が一般的に使われていた。
