as more intelligent seeingの部分ですが to see とはならないのでしょうか? to seeなら訳分かります

」というような意味ですね。

「私」は同僚をより知的だと認識している。
「私」は今まさに同僚の思考プロセスを見ている
「私」は同僚をより深いレベルで理解し始めている

このような一連の流れなので seeing で進行中のニュアンスを出しています。
