「太陽年の長さは100年ごとにおよそ0.5秒ずつ短くなっている。」
この和文の意味を英文で表わしました。

A solar year is getting shorter and shorter by about 0.5 second every 100 years.

この文は正しいですか。間違いがあれば添削をお願いします。

その通りだと思います。

上のように英語ネイティブらしき人が書いていまして、その二つのうちどちらでもいいかのように見えます。

こういうことは英語ネイティブらしき人がすでに何度もあちこちで書いているはずなので、それを検索してそのまま真似ればいいのです。

うっかりしていました。

リンク先には 1,000 年ごとに 5.5 秒だけ短くなると書いていますね。質問者さんが言っているのは 100 年ごとに 0.5 秒だけ短くなるということなので、同じことを言っていたのですね。ごめんなさい。下のように書き直します。

(1) The solar year is getting shorter by about 0.5 seconds every 100 years.
(2) The tropical year gets shorter by about 0.5 seconds every century.

私の書いた英文：

そもそも、日本語文章がおかしいです。

太陽は常も燃え続けており、質量が低下し続けているので、
時間は伸び続けています。
そのために、2-3年に一度のうるう秒の挿入が続いています。
原文を見直しましょう。
