アメリカにきて早３ヶ月 アメリカの大学入学について

今僕は父親の仕事でアメリカにきて3ヶ月がたって高校のseniorです。そこで大学を考えてるのですが、英語が第2外国語の生徒もアメリカ人と同様にSATかACTをうけて入学するしかないのでしょうか？（SATは10月1日に受け

ます）突然父親が第2外国語の人専用のテストがあるとかいってきたので質問させてもらいました。ちなみにtoefl（ibt）は5月頃に受けたのが４４点で8月22日に受けたのが６２点でした。高校のカウンセラーも自分で調べてっていうし、質問しようにもふさわしいサイトが見つかりません。
質問は
・第2外国語の人がアメリカの大学に入学するときに何か別の方法があるのか？
・そういうテストは存在するのか？
の二つです

What does 40% means?

  Suppose UC Berkeley has 5000 students as third year undergraduate students. 2000 or more have attended community colleges close to their home during the first two years and 3000 of them started at Berkeley as a freshman.  40% of the third capacity is reserved for transferring students from CC.  This is based on the master plan of California Higher Education.

　　　　UC Santa　Barbara　　編入希望者の６６％がAdmitされる。



Alameda Country, Contra Costa County, San Francisco, Santa Clara Countyは　高校からのUCへの進学者の１０％がBerkeleyに進学している。

SAT and ACT is not required. TOEFL is required but could be exempted after taking ESL class for 6 months or so. High School GPA is not important.

You need to come up with your own strategy. Ie. Work on your TOEFL now, get a good GPA during first two years at CC and transfer to four year university. By the way, what do you want to study at the university?

その４０％という数字は何が１００％なのでしょうか？
全生徒中から編入する生徒が４０％なのか、それとも編入プログラムから編入に成功するのが４０％なのかそこらへんを教えてください

アメリカの高校に留学している外国人の場合、TOEFLの免除はあっても(ある場合があっても）、SATやACT(出願に要求されている大学なら)は免除されることはないはずです。

日本から留学(出願)する場合でも、SATは要求されますから。

ただしTOEFLの免除は、アメリカの高校で何年間か過ごして(卒業)する場合、には免除される場合もありますが、１年未満では無理かと思います。いずれにしろ、英語力がなければ大学の授業についていけませんから。

大学によっては、もともと「international studet(英語が公用語でない学生)の場合はSAT免除」という大学もありますから、そういう大学ならSATは受けなくて良いかもしれません。

このように、学生の出願状況によって、また、大学によって
・SATは免除されるがTOEFLは必須(アメリカ国外からの出願の場合)
・TOEFLは免除されるがSATは必須(アメリカ国内かあの出願の場合)
など、バリエーションは様々ですが、両方の試験が免除されるケースはないでしょう。

レベルの高い大学の場合は、アメリカ国内からでも国外からでもTOEFLとSATの両方が要求される場合がほとんどです。

ご自分が志願する大学のinternational student用の出願要件を個別に確認するしかありません。
