そのお客様は、会場に向かうまでのブーツを探していたのですが季節は春だったので店頭には出していませんでした。
他の靴屋にも行ったらしいが断られて、、と私に言ってきました。

The customer told me that he/she was looking for a pairs of boots

for going to the meeting place, but they weren't available because we were already in spring, and he/she failed to get them at other shops, too....
