so that構文について

On the last morning of the term, Hamish Bigmore arrived at school with his teeth looking perfectly normal again. And there was a gleam in his eye. "Well, I think I've managed it," he said to Pete and Thomas.
"Your teeth?" they said. "Yes, you have. They look quite ordinary again. Mr. Majeika was right, then ー it worked."
"No, not that, idiots," said Hamish Bigmore scornfully. And his "goodness" seemed to have vanished now that his teeth were back to normal. "Just you wait and see what I mean."

MR Majeikaという本からなんですが、Hamish Bigmoreは悪ガキで、Majeikaという魔法を使う先生から、彼の悪さを懲らしめるために歯をドラキュラみたいにされてしまいました。この魔法を解くためには、Hamish Bigmoreは良いことをしなければいけませんでした。そして彼は良いことをしました。

And his "goodness" seemed to have vanished now that his teeth were back to normal.の部分なんですが、so that 構文ですよね。so that 構文では、A so that Bは、「BになるようにA」または、「Aの結果B」と訳されますよね。この文をそのように訳すと、「彼の歯が戻るように、彼の善性が消えてしまったらしかった。」、「彼の善性が消えてしまったらしかった、その結果彼の歯が戻った。」となってしまい、文脈とあわない気がします。文脈では、「彼の歯が元に戻るための彼の善性が消えてしまったらしかった。」が適当だとおもんですけど、このように形容詞的にso thatは使えるんてしょうか。よろしくお願いします。

口語で so that の that を省くことはよくありますが、so は省きません。
now that で since, because の意味で使われます。

という例が上がっています。あと、主節の後に来る例として、
I see now that you mentioned というように使います。
