「著効になる」を英語で

「患者がインターフェロン療法を実施し著効となった」と英語で言いたいのですが、著効って、英語で一言で言う言葉はあるでしょうか？

臨床試験で、効果に関係する動詞として、respondがあり、「著効になる」に近い説明もあります(下記のA)。

ただ、一般的には、一語で「著効になる」を言い表せないようにも思えます(下記のB、C）。「著効になる」と理解、使用してよいかは、前後の文章も加味して判断することになるのかなと思います。
A)To say something in return, make an answer, to show some reaction to a force or stimulus, to render satisfaction.

以上のことから、患者が複数とした場合、webの例を参考にしますと、
These patients responded quite well(completly, remarkably, markedly) to the interferon therapy.
These patients had（achieved, showed, demonstrated) a complete response　to the interferon therapy.
のような文章が浮かびました。「著効」は、日本語独特の言い回しのように思えます。complete responseについては下記サイトでは、完全寛解、著効、完全奏効等の訳があてられています。

「著効になる」⇔respond が定訳のようです。
