女優のミア・ファローの息子のインタビュー記事の中の文章で、以下の部分がよくわかりません。一部でも結構ですので、ご教授ください。

"We were every minority in the town."

"every"がよくわかりません。We (彼の家族) "全員が個々に"少数派だったと言いたいのでしょうか？（ちなみに、彼の兄弟は養子で、いろいろな国から来ている）

3.
"When we do a story," he said, "I want to make sure you walk away with the freshman-college knowledge, the cocktail-party take on it, something that when you go to recount it to your friends, you know the basics and also you know what the future is, and, if you happen to care about the issue, what you can do with that."

全体の訳を教えてください。"the cocktail-party take on it," とか、途中のところどころがよくわかりません。

　　　　その次に来ると彼が思うものに　　＞　　次に何が来るかと言うことで
　　　「誰かが彼（ロナン•ファロウ）の家族について尋ねる時には、いつでも、一体この次には何を聞かれるんだろう、と緊張した」

2.　　　　"We were every minority in the town."　We (彼の家族) "全員が個々に"少数派だったと言いたいのでしょうか？

　　　　おっしゃる通りです。「ありとあらゆる（人種的）少数派は、我が家にある」

3.　　　"When we do a story," he said, "I want to make sure you walk away with the freshman-college knowledge, the cocktail-party take on it, something that when you go to recount it to your friends, you know the basics and also you know what the future is, and, if you happen to care about the issue, what you can do with that."

　　彼（＝ロナン）は、「我々が収録する時は、大学一年生の知識に、カクテルパーティーのような見方、言わば友だちにその話を伝えるときのように、何が基礎か、未来はどうなるのか、その上、もし個人的な興味のある題材なら、それにどう対処することが出来るか、を手に入れたことを確認して取材を終わらせたいのだ」と言った。

take の意味は、下記名詞の　１．１　a particular version of or approach to something　が近いと思います。

　　　　大学一年生に知識は知れている、カクテルパーティーでの会話は、薄っぺらなもの、だから「○○の専門家××大学の△△教授のご意見では」式の」コメントでなく、友だちとの茶飲み話で扱うように取材したい、と言うことだと思います。

　　　　はじめの、"When we do a story,"の　a story　を指しています。ですから取材する話をカクテルパーティーで話すように噛み砕いて（ニュース番組などによくある講義のような扱いでなく）と言うことだと思います。
