和訳 honesty

下記の英文のhonestyはどんなふうに和訳すればいいですか　(外国人です)

『公平性』がよいと思います。

honesty は普通日本語では「誠実なこと」ですが、この文脈では『公平性』のほうがそれらしく響くようにおもいます。なお英和辞書で honestを調べれば「公平な」という意味も挙げています。

I can't use 公平、公正 because the root meaning is different. I'm thinking now to re-write the English to just write, "to eliminate dishonest acts"... or something crazy like that.

Japanese is frustrating, in that I'm never allowed to just write stuff the way it is. There always has to be some sort of cover up of the truth, so people's feelings don't get hurt. It's so bizarre.

For example, because there's no acceptance that judges, prosecutors, or police, - or anyone in authority can be dishonest, I have to change the meaning to 'fairness'. But that's not the meaning at all. The police, and prosecutors are famously corrupt - worse than the criminals in a lot of cases.

I'm going to the gym and then I'll re-write the English, into crazy English, so there is no translation mistake :o/

他の方々への補足を拝見しました。

maintain integrity = stop/prevent/locate dishonest acts　→　honesty
とされたとのことですね。

以前、maintain integrityを「整合性を保つ」と訳した記憶があります。
この表現はコンピュータ関係でよく使われます。

しかし、補足で言われていることはちょっと違うようです。
honestyのニュアンスを持つなら「品位（誠実さ）と整合性を保つ」では
いかがでしょうか。
外国語の１単語を日本語の１単語で表すのは難しい場合が往々にしてあります。
２単語並列は、そんな時に使う苦肉の策です。ご参考までに。

→　法律的な過ちを特定し品位と整合性を保つこと

司法や裁判などに関する文章であるならば、ここでのhonestyは「公正さ」と訳するのが一番適切だと考えます。

「正直さ」で良いと思います。

日本語の言葉使いとしては少し変だけど、英語の文章も、この文脈でhonestyという単語が出てくるのは少し変だから、少し変な感じがするくらいで丁度いい。

d-yさんは以前に元の英文を和訳したことがあります。

私が書いた英文は「integrity」という言葉を使っていましたが、integrityを和訳することは無理みたいなので 和訳するために、honesty に変更しました。

私が書いた英文の意味は：
maintain integrity = stop/prevent/locate dishonest acts

それは意味何ですが、理解するためにそこまでの説明する必要があるかな。。。
