make it a rule to doは～することにしている、の変形として
make a habit of -ing、have a habit of -ing、
be in a habit of -ing、make a point of -ingなどでも同じ意味を表すとのことなんですが
同じ意味をあらわすのは、他に何かありますでしょうか？
例えば、make it a habit to doとか、have a point of -ingなんかは誤りなんですかね

まったく同じ意味ではありません。互いにニュアンスが異なるので、置き換えが出来ない場合があります。

◎ make it a rule to do
～するのをルールにする（している）。意図して行う、自分の主義(ルール)としてすることにしている、という感じです。
I make it a rule to give my seat to an elderly person or a pregnant woman on the train.
（お年寄りや妊娠中の女性に席を譲ることにしている。）

◎ make a habit of -ing, make it a habit to
～する習慣をつける（つけている）。ある決まった時・場合にあることをルーチンとして行う、という感じです。
Ｉ make a habit of taking a walk in the morning.
（朝の散歩を習慣にしている）

◎ have a habit of -ing, be in a habit of -ing
「～の習慣がある」の他に「癖がある」「～の性質・傾向を持つ」という意味で使われる場合があります。
I have a habit of trying to touch things I am not really supposed to.
（さわろうとする癖がある）

◎ make a point of -ing
～するように努める。～を重視する。あること（ポイント）に意識のフォーカスをあてる（あてている）といった感じです。
I always make a point of attending some sessions on subjects I know very little about.
（出席するように努めている）
