in/on/at the corner の違いを説明してください。 何かの本で読みましたが理解できませんでした。

in the corner : 公園や庭などの敷地内の角 (すみ)

例 : There is a big tree in the corner of the park.

on the corner : 交差点などの角、机などの角 (とがった部分)

例 : There is a big house on the corner of 1st street and Main Avenue.

例 : I hit my elbow on the corner of a desk yesterday.

at the corner : 交差点などの曲がり角 (道)

例 : I saw a car accident at the corner of 1st street and Main Avenue.

前置詞のイメージ

in : 中
on : ひっついている
at : そば (離れている)

"corner" は、"角 (先のとがったかど)" のイメージ

There is a big house on the corner.
There is a big house at the corner.

辞書に、"両方言うことがある" と書かれているから、混乱されているのかと思うのですが、基本的に、道路上の話 (交通事故など) の時は "at"、町かどにある建物などの話の時は "on" を使うと理解した方がいいと思います。
実際、どちらを使っても理解してはもらえるんですけどね。。。
