The situation continues today, though ( is / with / increasing / being / the matter / urgency / discussed ) because of the unprecedented rate at which indigenous languages are being lost, especially in North America, Brazil, Australia, Indonesia, and parts of Africa.

特設ページ（http://languagestyle.blogspot.com/2010/08/blog-p …）を用意して私なりの分析をしてみました。現在のところの結論は以下の２つの可能性があるのではないかというものです。

１．～ though the matter is being discussed with urgency increasing because ～
２．～ though the matter is being discussed with increasing urgency because ～

正しいのは２の方ですが、１が間違いである理由はどんなところにあるのでしょうか。

さらに、前置詞句であるwith～urgencyはthe matterの前に置き、

thought with increasing urgency the matter is being discussed because～

としたら間違いでしょうか。英文の流れからすると２の方が良いのでしょうが、文法規則上の誤りを指摘するとどのようになるのかいまいちハッキリしません。

ご教授願えればと思います。

with(前置詞) increasing(形容詞) urgency(名詞) because of xxx ですと、xxx は the matter is being discussed with increasing urgency the matter 全体にかかります。

論理が自然です。

with urgency(名詞) increasing(分詞) because of xxx と並べると xxx は increasing にかかり、文意が変わってきます。論理が少し不自然です。

though with increasing urgency the matter is being discussed because of xxx と書くのは副詞句であるwith increasing urgencyを前に出しただけですから、文法的には通ります。必ずしも間違いということではありませんが、文意を考えるときベストではありません。「ますます緊迫度を持って議論されている理由」を言おうとするには、with increasing urgencyはbecause of の直前にある方がつながりがよいと思われるからです。

１がダメな理由が少しずつ見えてきました。
問題は「論理」にあるのですね。

これについては納得です。

付帯状況のwith構文の直後にbecause of～が続くとそのbecause of～は付帯状況のwith構文の内容についての理由付けとなるとの説明だと受け取りました。これについては他に例を挙げるとするとどのような例が考えられるのでしょうか。僕自身もこれからこの観点で調べてみるつもりではいますが、例をお持ちであればお示し頂けると大変たすかります。
