Govt. forces doubt separatists' weapons withdrawal

Ukrainian government forces say they will start withdrawing heavy weapons from eastern Ukraine after they establish pro-Russian separatists have stopped their attacks.

A senior official from the pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk told Russian and other media on Tuesday that they had pulled out nearly 100 pieces of heavy weaponry from 4 locations, including Debaltseve and Donetsk.

But the official stopped short of mentioning the types of weapons removed and where they were taken.

On the same day, a Ukrainian military spokesperson asserted that the separatists are still building up their military strength.

The official said government forces will begin withdrawing heavy weapons if they are not attacked for 2 days.
Sporadic battles continue in the region.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius on Wednesday expressed concern about tensions in the city of Mariupol, located in the southern part of the eastern region.

In a radio program, Fabius suggested the possibility of more EU sanctions on Russia, depending on the situation in the industrial city.

that以下ですが、if the separatists attack in the direction of Mariupol が一区切りで『もしも分離主義者（親ロシア派）がマリウポル方面に攻撃を仕掛けるならば、』となりthings, including sanctions, would change drastically.　『事態は制裁を含め大きく変わるであろう』と続きます。
