「頑張り合う」は、そのまま英語に訳すのが難しいです。

if you have a friend who shares the same challenge and you and your friend can work hard and encourage each other.

「共に頑張り合う人」には rivalがぴったりだと思います。

There are no insuperable barrier if you have a good rival in the same field who is also your friend.

ご参考までに、どういう場でこの文章を使うかに当然よりますが、あまり堅苦しい場でなければ、もっと簡単に　You can do almost anything if you have a good rival who is also so your friend. ぐらいでも、ご質問の日本語の意味は充分に伝えられると思います。

There are no insuperable barrier if I have a good rivals in the same situation who are also my friends.
で大丈夫でしょうか？

rivals は複数なので前の a は不要です。
