「人々は仕事を休まなくてはいけない時もあります。自分の仕事を他の人達と分担していれば、仕事を無事に終える事が出来ます。」
と言いたいときに、
People somtimes have to miss the work. If they share their work with others, they can complete their work safely.
で伝わるでしょうか？

Theなしで、Miss workだけなら「仕事を休む」で大丈夫ですよ。

でも私なら、Peopleの代わりにYouを使います。このYouは決して「あなた」という意味ではなく、「誰しも（they）」と同じ意味です。

You have to miss work sometimes. If you are sharing your work with other people, they can fill in for you and your work will be completed during your absence.

put a day off （1日を休みにする）が良さそだけどね、、、。

模範解答の例文に、miss the work や miss school がありましたので、そのまま使ってしまいましたが、ダメなのですね。
