また、FDJは、「議会」で会派も組織していた。
農業政策は、すでに1950年代以降、ドイツ民主共和国を再構築した社会党の完全な管理下にあった。
ドイツ社会主義統一党（SED）体制は、ソビエト社会主義共和国連邦（USSR）のお手本に従った共同農場化を推し進めた。
終戦直後に土地改革が始まり、100ヘクタール以上の農地が収用された。
大規模農地は、細分化された。
