南ア英語：buy a new seed単数形の謎？

So periodically you do need to buy a new seed and then make sure the seed that you are buying is a fungal free, and there all variety that are clear, cleaner then the more common varieties.

質問：you do need to buy a new seedと、ガーデニングのアドバイスで、種（seed）が単数形になっていますが、一粒だけ買うわけではないので、seedsと複数形にして、the seedも複数形にしてa fungal free (seed)も、aが必要なくfungal free (seeds）にすべきだと思うのですが、どうなのでしょうか？

不定冠詞の総称用法もこの場合では使えないと思うのです。

それとも聞き間違いなのでしょうか？

　　　　はい、聞き間違いです。不定冠詞はありません。fungal free の前の　a　と書いてあるのも、次の単語を言わば舌先でまさぐっている躊躇の曖昧母音です。

seedの総称用法は使えるようですね。
