英語の質問です。「～しなかったら、今の私はいない」

質問させていただきます。

どうしても、英語の、良い言い回しが分からない文章があります。

その文章は

「もし音楽を聞いていなければ、今の私はいない。」

というものです。

シンプルかつ丁寧な言い回しを考えています。

是非、みなさんの知恵を貸してください。

「特定な音楽作品を耳にしていなければ」とか「音楽がなければ」ではなく「音楽全般を継続的に聴いていなければ」という解釈でよろしいでしょうか。

であれば
「If I hadn't been listening to music, I wouldn't be who I am now.」です。
