defferent from とunlike

defferent fromとunlikeの違いについて教えて下さい。

unlike the Information I got beforeという英文がありますが、
defferent from the information I got beforeでもOKでしょうか？

defferentはdifferentのミススペルだと解釈して回答しますと、その前後に来るものによります。

例えば、This is unlike the information I got before.もThis is different from the information I got before.も文法的に正しいですが、Unlike the information I got before this is interesting.とは言えても、Different from the information I got before this is interesting.とは言えません。また、different from（～とは違う）とunlike（～とは似ず）では、微妙にニュアンスが違います。

unlikeには、形容詞と前置詞がありますので、文章によって、different from、または、differently fromとなります。

ただ、形容詞の意味の時には、「同じでない。似ていない。」という意味のことが多く、「異なる。」という意味の時には、前置詞として使われるのが一般的のようです。
例えば、This information is collected unlike the information I got before. という英文があったとして、書き換えると、This information is collected differently from the information I got before.になるということです。

「unlike」は質に関して異なる場合に使います。

「different (from something)」はアイデンティティが異なる、つまり「別の」「別個の」という意味と、「unlike」と同じように、質的な違いを表す意味があります。

This information is unlike the one I got before.　→この情報は前もらったのとは性質を異にするものだ。

This information is different from the one I got before. →この情報は前もらったものとは別のものです。(あるいは：この情報は前もらったのとは性質を異にするものだ。)

unlikeがdifferentより口語的ということはありません。

一般的には、be different fromです

John is different from his friends.
ジョンは友達と違う。


unlikeはどちらかというと口語的（日常会話で使用）
My hobbies are quite unlike those of my friends’.
僕の趣味は友達の趣味とぜんぜん違う。

different from と unlike は同義語で大きな違いはなさそうです。

ただし
What he says is very different from what he does.
という文章で different from を unlike に入れ替えることはしません。

different from の方がキチンとしていて一般的におすすめなのですが unlike は一語なので気軽に (口語的に) unlike anyone, unlike her のように言う場合に使いやすいと思います。
