X I said "That is a good book." to him of the book.

アメリカ人のネイティヴに訊きました。上記は正しい。下記は誤り。

Any book of which we say to ourselves, when we have done with it ,“That is a good book”

この英語の構造を説明するには
of which は we say of the book からきた
としか説明しようがありません。

しかし、あくまでも、関係代名詞の構造を説明するために、say of the book とするのであって、
関係代名詞を用いず、そのまま of the book を使うとかなり違和感があります。

any book という book はあくまでも不特定なもので、実際に of the book と言い切れるものではありません。

とにかく、もとの
Any book of which we say to ourselves, when we have done with it, “That is a good book”
の構造についてはそう考えるしかありません。

I said of the book to him, "That is a good book."
これならある程度は自然になります。
