が正しくて、
The A compound show a higher conductivity than that of the B compound.
は間違っています。

何度か回答しましたが、比較級は同じものを比較しないといけません。
The A compound shows high conductivity.
The B compound shows high conductivity.
(主語が3単現なので　S　がいる。　Conductivityは不可算名詞）
この2つの文で、比較しないと比較級は成立しません。

The A compound shows higher conductivity than the B compound shows higher conductivity.
thanは接続詞です。

この文で、重複を嫌う英語から
以下のようになります。
The A compound shows higher conductivity than the B compound does.
Doesを省略可能なので
The A compound shows higher conductivity than the B compound.


これは
I am taller than that of his.　が間違いで
I am taller than he (is).という文からもわかると思います。

I am tall.
He is tall.を比べているからです。

私の例文ではthat ofは必須です。
ambiguityが無く素直に読めるでしょう。

他の回答者への質問で、That of　が必要かどうか聞かれていましたね。

The conductivity of the A compound is high
The conductivity of the B compound is high
を比べると

The conductivity of the A compound is higher than the conductivity of the A compound is high.

ルールに従って省略すると
The conductivity of the A compound is higher than the conductivity of the A compound.

the conductivityが重なるので　That ofを使います。
The conductivity of the A compound is higher than that of the A compound.
となります。

例えば、
My dog is big.
His dog is big.

これを比べると
His dog is bigger than my dog is big.
His dog is bigger than my dog is.
His dog is bigger than my dog.
His dog is bigger than mine.

でThat ofが入りません。

比べる分を考えるとThat of が必要かどうかはわかります。
