some と some of the の違いは？

タイトルどおりです。
some と some of the の違いは何なんでしょうか？

some children　と　some of the children　は意味が違うとネットで言われたのですが、
説明を受けても良く分かりませんでした。

分かりやすく教えて下さい。

some children は、特定の対象に限定しない 「幾人かの子どもたち」 です。

一般的な子どもをイメージしています。

それに対して some of the children は、the children というふうに the （定冠詞） を用いていることからも分かるように、対象を 「その子どもたち」 に限定しています。まずある限定された 「子どもたち」 を定義する文があり、「その子どもたちの中の何人かは」 と文が続いていく場合に用いられるものと考えればいいと思います。

一言で言えば　the, my, your、代名詞の目的格 などの語をつけて特定すれば　of がつきます。

これは someに限らず　no, many, much, most, both, neither, ether なども同じ使い方です。

Some people are very undriendly.
Some of the people at the party were very unfriendly.

George is mjuch richer than most people.
Most of my friends live in Osaka.

I have no money.
None of the money is mine. (no of という言い方はありません）

Hurry! We have very little time.
I spend much of my time reading.

Each of the rooms in the hotel has its own bathroom.

How many of these people do you know? None of them.

なお　all, half は of を省くことがよくあります

all my friends = all of my friends
half the money = half of the money

ただし代名詞の場合は　of が必要です

all of us, half of them

＝ 大勢いる中の何人か。


some of the children

＝子供の中の何人か。



より限定的に成ります。some of themと考えたら、判り易いでしょうか？
