something a lady 育ちのよい女性　と訳されていますがこの語順が納得できません
a　something lady ではないのでしょうか？

基本的な骨組みは　To cut the string of a parcel is something a lady would not do on any account　ということになりますが、To cut the string of a parcel is something　で一区切りさせてみると良く分かるのではないでしょうか。つまり、その後ろの　a lady would not do on any account　が something を修飾している、という形です。あるいは something (which) a lady would not do ... という文だと見ると良いかと思います。

どれほど夫婦の絆がもつれていようと、however complicated the knot
荷物のひもをカットするなんて、育ちの良いレディーのしごとではない。
